The appartments at Shepherd Street

Villa Esperanza - Village of Hope In 2004 M & M Development rehabilitated two abandoned buildings to create forty-four beautiful and affordable apartment homes. The two buildings have become jewels in the neighborhood and although they have been fully occupied and operational for years they still look as fresh and tidy as when they were just finished. With this project, M & M Development has proved that affordable housing, when well built and beautiful, can be the single most important tool to improve a neighborhood and the lives of the people that inhabit it.

The apartment at 12th Ave

The corner house located at 159 12th Avenue is a perfect example of “making lemonade when you get lemons”. The lot was undersized and required the Planning Board to grant several variances in order to be able to build a duplex on that land. A creative architectural concept and the careful selection of materials and colors produced a gorgeous contemporary house, esthetically pleasing and functional.

M&M Development Projects

Construction on Park View Homes and Homes at 12th Avenue started as the bursting of the real estate bubble and credit meltdown became an undeniable fact. The single family concept is not the most common real estate concept in the city of Newark even in the best of times; yet the lots located in 16th Avenue just across the beautiful, newly refurbished West Side Park, were ideally suited for single family living.

M & M development was formed in 1997 in order to develop a parcel of land in the Central Ward of the City of Newark. The land was purchased in a municipal auction and subdivided into nine lots. This mixed income project was M & M Development’s initiation into the world of affordable housing.

Homestead Homes Exteriors

Homestead Park is a very small park nested in the middle of a block in the Clinton Hills section of Newark’s South Ward. Homestead Park Road winds around the park creating a secluded and cozy neighborhood. M & M built beautiful duplexes with a strong Victorian flavor to complement the existing housing stock. M & M Development is proud to have Mayor Cory Booker calling one of these buildings his home since 2006.
